Dr. Sage Pankey has wanted to become a dentist since middle school. She could not fully explain what first drew her to the profession, but after spending time shadowing dentists in college, the answer became clear: it was the people.
For Dr. Pankey, dentistry has never been “just about a tooth.” It is an opportunity to get to know the person behind the smile, understand what matters to them, and provide care that can improve both their health and their confidence. She believes meaningful relationships are at the heart of exceptional dentistry and wants every patient to feel comfortable, heard, and genuinely cared for.
Patients appreciate Dr. Pankey’s calm, thoughtful approach and the time she takes to listen and explain their care clearly. She understands that trust is built through honest conversations and personalized attention. Whether she is helping someone maintain a healthy smile or guiding them through more involved treatment, her goal is to ensure they understand their options and feel confident moving forward.
Born and raised in South Florida, Dr. Pankey attended the University of Florida before earning her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the VCU School of Dentistry, where she also met her fiancé. Following dental school, she completed a General Practice Residency in Salt Lake City. The additional training allowed her to broaden her clinical skills, gain experience caring for patients with a wide range of needs, and continue growing as a dentist.
Relationships remain central to Dr. Pankey’s life outside the office as well. She loves bringing people together, sharing plenty of laughs, and learning what makes each person unique. A self-described “water baby,” she feels especially at home boating, swimming, or spending the day at the beach. She also enjoys skiing, hiking, traveling, trying new restaurants, watching a good movie, spending time with animals, and exploring new places with family and friends.
