New smile saves a life.

A new patient and her husband came in a several years ago, and she wanted to restore her mouth to a healthier condition. Admittedly, she had really let things go. She was approaching dentures soon if she didn’t act, and she knew it.  She needed implants, crowns, fillings, gum surgery and root canals. It was going to be expensive for sure… but she was prepared, and really wanted to get her smile, (and function) back.  Everything went along right according to plan, and she was surprised at how comfortable and easy the treatment really was.

A couple of years later, she developed intestinal cancer. The treatments were brutal, and the surgeries left her with an impaired ability to digest food.  I am happy to report that she is now a cancer survivor, and once again enjoying life. She and her husband recently came in for regular check-ups, and  he asked to speak to me privately.  I was expecting some bad news.  But with tears in his eyes, he simply thanked me for giving his wife her new smile, because without her newly restored mouth, they were both positive she could never have maintained her ability to eat and chew well enough to compensate for the intestinal issues.  They both had learned just how important a properly functioning mouth is to maintaining overall health.

If you, or someone you love, needs to put you dental health in proper order, the first step is just a phone call away.
